I hope everyone had a great weekend!!  I may, or may not, do a post about our weekend...I don't really have much to say, just a few funny pictures and moments that I captured.  NBD...the real excitement for today is I'm having my very first guest blogger!!

I am delighted to be Melissa’s very first guest blogger. To be honest I wasn’t sure what role a guest blogger played, but I thought I would post exactly what I would post on my own blog.

Cauliflower Mashed Potatoes

(The kicker, their not really potatoes!!)

1 head cauliflower, cleaned

1 Tbsp. non-fat sour cream

1/3 cup feta cheese

salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Clean and cut cauliflower into small, easy to boil pieces.

Boil cauliflower until very, very soft.

Drain cauliflower well.

Combine all ingredients in a food processor.

ENJOY!!

Confession Friday...02/10/12

*  I confess...I missed Confession Friday...so I'm back.

*  I confess...I can think of confessions alllll week long until I sit down to write them out and then....nothing...guess I need to start jotting them down, just like everything else.   Good thing I LOVE LISTS!!

*  I confess...that I will be sooooo happy when I am out of this multi-colored yarn I've been working with for the past three weeks.  Solid color - here I come!

It sure makes a pretty butterfly though...

*  I confess...that when GT introduced me yesterday, he said - "This is my mother, her name is Mama" -  and my heart melted.

*  I confess that it bums me out a little that the two people I have asked to get a guest bloggers for me for Day H of the ABC Blog Challenge haven't even returned my email.  So.....I have nothing.  Guess I'm going to have to get creative, like Ms. Adrien did here.

*  I confess that it bothers when people don't return my emails, texts, calls, etc...I try to do my best to not leave people hanging and would appreciate the same in return.  Maybe I'm just too sensitive.

*  I confess...THIS is awesome. THIS is not.

*  I confess...I am officially a Pin-head.  14 Boards...61 Pins...since Monday.  I knew it would be bad...that's why I waited this long.  I refuse to be one of those people though who has like 34567 pins and there is no way in heck that they'll ever complete any of them.  I'm all about using it for inspiration.  I've already completed a few of the projects I've found on there!!




 *  I confess that this is the first week since GT started The Little Gym that I haven't opened the door to class during his class...Yes...I'm that mother.  My name is Mama.

Pancakes For Breakfast!!

I Made My Own Baby Wipes!!!

My homemade fabric softener turned out so good...I decided to give homemade baby wipes a shot.  I am so freaking excited.  (Hey...it's the small things)  I am all about saving money!...and all about passing on my tips!!  I did a little researching online for a "recipe" (I looked at two different recipes)...one called for baby oil and one did not.

The ingredients:

2 cups water (you will have to adjust the amount of water depending on the absorbency of your the papertowels that you are going to use - for instance - my magic number turns out to be around 2 1/4 cups)
2 tablespoons baby oil
2 tablespoons baby shampoo or baby wash
1 roll of papertowels - (this is where I got particular...pretty sure I found the best papertowels for the job)

I found the PERFECT container at Dollar Tree

1.  Cut the roll of papertowels directly in half...or as close as you can get it...

We used a large serrated knife to cut the roll of papertowels in half.
A little messy - so prepare yourself.  : )
I read somewhere you could use a saw to do this part of the job...

Put the water, baby shampoo/wash and baby oil (if you choose to use it) in your container - stir gently to mix ingredients.  Pull the cardboard out of the middle of the dry roll of papertowels and then stuff it inside the container.  Let it soak overnight or for a few hours - you'll know when they are done.

I'm fairly happy with the way that these turned out...there are a couple of things that I don't like about these - like how they are perforated, so they are kind of hard to "one hand"...but I can look past that, seeing as they are going to save money in the long run.

Marty Feldman...the Chameleon

No...I haven't forgotten about the ABC Blog Challenge...just taking my time with it.  Yeah, that's it...just taking my time.  : )

Today is being brought to you by the Letter G!!

The cooooolest pet that Gordon or I have ever had was our chameleon, Marty Feldman the Chameleon.  We got Marty in 2004 for Gordon's birthday.  I don't even remember the name of the shop that we got him at.  It was a place in South County that was totally creepy & dark...and filled with allllll kinds of creepy crawlies and slimy crawlies and every other kind of slithering thing, too.

We bought everything we needed for our new pet at that store.  We received a handwritten receipt for our purchase on an index card.  I remember Gordon & I were both worried about killing the little guy dying in the first few days of owning him...and after having bought the cage & all the other crap stuff, we wanted to be sure our purchase was protected.  Meaning...we didn't see any type of return policy posted.  : )

We brought Marty home in a brown paper sack, like the kind you'd use for a bag lunch.  When we got him, he was no bigger than my entire pinky finger.  From the tip of his head to the end of his tail.  We are talking little. For being such a little guy, he was very high maintenance.

(Maybe sometime I'll tell you the story about the time I bought crickets in bulk, online - BIG mistake)

Marty Feldman the Chameleon

  

We had Marty his whole life...we had him for a few years until he got sick & his "sticky" tounge quit working.  We ended up having to feed him by hand, before we eventually had to put him to sleep.  It was a very sad day for us.  Marty taught us both a lot.  He was the first pet that Gordon & I had raised together. 

Sure, for Day G - Growing by Leaps & Bounds, I could have used the post to document the growth of my babies, but you'll see plenty of that over time.  What I wanted to use today for, was to remember our pet, Marty who grew...by leaps and bounds...

Another Incredible Weekend!!!

What did we do, you ask???  Just spent it together...and ended the weekend with some friends and the BEST SUPERBOWL PARTY...E-V-E-R!!!  (Who won, btw?  jk...I know the Giants did.  :-))

Friday night, we stayed home...I finished my scarf!!

GT enjoyed his bed some more...

Saturday, we spent the day doing all kinds of fun family activities.  Since the crap on television these days, is just that - crap - we put together our own version of Saturday morning cartoons and let GT immerse himself in that for a couple of hours each Saturday morning.  We decide the night before what he's going to watch and we stick to it.  It's our own sort of TV Guide...LOL.

The day went fast after GT's nap - we played with Star Wars people (one of GT's favorite activities - he could tell you every character EVER, practically), played with Playdoh and just plain enjoyed each other.

Sunday, we headed over to our friends house for a "Superbowl Party".  Really, we just used the Superbowl as an excuse to get together...as it turns out...none of us really gave a hoot about the game.  (As a matter of fact, I had to look up who was playing in the game the night before) We had a really great time with good friends, good food and lots of fun!!

Vadyn moved up to a new seat...her pumpkin seat was getting too small for her...or maybe she was getting too big for it...potato, potato.  :)

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!  I didn't take nearly as many pictures this weekend as the last...but I'm learning to soak up the memories with my mind, too...It just makes them a little harder to share.
