Here Goes...

So...I've been wondering for a while how I was going to tackle THIS blog post...seeing as I've painted such a picture of my life through my words and pictures and other things I've chosen to share on this here bloggity blog.

I'm just going to come out and say it...I'll welcome any questions, comments or hints and suggestions you might have for me, if there are any...and we'll just take it from there.

Gordon and I have separated.

The kids and I are living with my mom (Thank God for her generosity in this craZy time) and we have begun the whole "his time, my time" mumbo jumbo.

Something that I never thought I'd ever have to do.  Something I never wanted to have to do.  Something I feel like I did everything in my power to prevent.

The kids are hanging in.  They are healthy and safe and loved beyond words.  Of course, GT has taken it hard.  I knew it wouldn't be easy on him.  He is coming around.  It will take time for all of us.  Only time with tell what kind of impact this will have on Vadyn.  I'll do everything I can to help lessen her burden.

Our family has been great...and when I say our families, I mean Gordon's and mine.  Support will be the only way any of us will get through this.  Gordon and I are doing are best to remain friends.  Something that I've enjoyed being with him.

The past two months really haven't been a time in my life where I've even felt like taking pictures, so I don't have hardly any to share, but I didn't want you to be able to see how much the kids have grown, so here you go...

Guess who is walking...

This is more than likely my last or second to last blog post on When One + One = Four...I'm creating a new space for my new life..just Mister, Missy & Me...

Before Another Weekend Passes...

When I started this blog, I did it...mostly because I was going to be deactivating my facebook account, and I was looking  wanted  needed an outlet for sharing things I found interesting, pictures of the kids, the goings on of our lives, etc...I really didn't know what I was getting myself into, blogging, that is.  It has become a part of me.  I am always thinking about how I can improve my little space of the www...

Needless to say and it's completely possibly that I have said it before, When One + One = Four is a work in progress, just like me.

I'm realizing that I haven't been doing as good of a job of keeping up on posting about what we've been up to - more journal material, maybe not as interesting for my followers who have discovered me for other reasons.

One thing I know...practically no one followed me here from facebook...and I'm okay with that.  I mean...I have my thoughts on it, but I'm all about not going negative on my blog - and I'm not about to start now.  What I will do, is share a little about my weekend - last weekend that is, before it gets too far away...

Last weekend started with a very brief get together at our park with my best friend, Robyn and her family...we met up for a quick picnic, some catching up ('cause it had been way too long), a little fishing, and of course, I had my camera...

Sweet Ms. Daphne

I think his smile is bigger than the fish...

Praise Hands!!

God is SOOO GOOD!!

Saturday, the kids and I headed off to Red Bud to celebrate my cousin, Emily's High School graduation.  I took care of Emily when she was a newborn and while she was just months old, so it was REALLY surreal for me to realize that she is now graduating from high school... God has BIG plans for this young woman's life.  I know it.  She will do Him proud...I know that, too.

Sunday, we had the fastest family reunion ever a family reunion to attend in Eureka, Missouri.  My grandma's (my mom's mom) side has a family reunion there every year.  The last time we had been at the reunion was when I was pregnant with GT...so there have been a few changes to our family since then - and I had some showing off to do.  : )

Since the reunion wrapped up so quickly, we had time to go fishing on Sunday!!!  Fishing has been becoming our favorite extra curricular activity lately.  For me, I think it's mostly just being able to be surrounded by nature.  I have absolutely been loving soaking up the beauty that is creation.

Now...I've only got Mother's Day weekend and Memorial Day weekend to recap...nothing like working backwards.

I'll get there...

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

The Saturday Before Last

Since this past weekend wasn't terribly exciting...I spent most of it laid up with my back out of whack...I decided to share the pics and update from the Saturday before last...sound good?  Good.

So...the Saturday before last, the kids and I went over to Illinois to spend the day with my side of our family.  I already showed you pictures of the afghan I made for my cousin and his wife, Litney.  Litney's baby shower was at Lau Nae Winery in Red Bud.  While Vadyn and I went to the shower, GT hung out with his Uncle Zack.  The spread at the shower was incredible!!  We had a great time before heading back to my little sister Leslie's house to celebrate Mother's Day.

All in all, we had a beautiful day in the country.  The weather was great, the company was wonderful and the kids and I enjoyed every second of our time over in Illinois.  As the kids grow older, the more excited I get to share pieces of my hometown with them.  I can hardly wait to take them fishing at my grandmas, to ride horses at my uncles, to run through the creek and just play, play, play in the good ole' country!!
