You Know What Drives Me Crazy?!?

In the spirit of yet another day being laid up with my back out of whack, I decided to do a little good ole fashioned venting...

You Know What Drives Me Crazy?!?...

* ...when I'm correcting my son's behavior in public, because I am obviously not happy with it and a complete stranger butts in and says, "Oh, it's ok...". Obviously it's NOT ok. Butt out!!

* ...when people don't use their turn signal.

* ...when I can't find a single pacifier and it's two in the morning...and I'm on my knees reaching under Vadyn's bed and then I turn on the light...and they were right there...three of them...right where I was reaching. How frustrating.

*...when I make plans and then my back goes out and I can't do anything...for days...except be in pain...

*...when I try to communicate clearly but it doesn't work...

*...when parents don't parent.

So...what drives you crazy?!?

A Whole Lotta Random...

* I gave myself an at home manicure the other night...when GT saw my nails, he gasped - "Oh, I love them!"  Pretty sure it's the glitter...

The picture on the left is before I cut them down...they were ridiculous...

But now, I love them!!  Thanks, JENN!!!

* I am very excited about the current crochet project I'm working on...Unfortunately, I can't show it to you just yet...it's a surprise!!!  I am considering giving you a sneek peek tomorrow though, just because I can't help myself!! : )

* I totally want to do the Photo A Day challenge this month...hopefully I won't forget this time.

*  I am a very bad sendsomethinggooder...I haven't sent my package off yesterday to my secret sister.  I'm hoping whoever has me is kindofa slacker like me, so I don't feel toooo bad for not getting mine out by the deadline.  Sorry Secret Sister...I'll make up for it, promise!!

* I cannot believe it is May.  I know I say it a lot, but geesh....time seriously flies anymore!!  Vadyn's one year birthday is tooo close for comfort.  :-/  The theme finally came to me the other day...I'll give you a hint:

* Gordon and I have been listening to a lot of Pink Floyd lately.  That is some seriously great music.  Gordon's cousin from Texas was kind enough to send up copies of all of his Floyd albums, which were all of them, soooo we went from having only one Pink Floyd album (Dark Side Of The Moon) to having ALL of them.  Sooooo sweet and soothing!!!  I've  purposely fallen asleep listening to them the last two nights in a row.



*  Due to all of the rain we've been having, our lawn has not been mowed in waaaaay too many days...it looks terrible - the really bad part is even though a break in the rain is coming, I don't see it getting mowed until this weekend.  That is unless there are any volunteers who can take care of it before then...???...

*  This is what we see when we look out of our front door everyday  - with the exception of the chairs being empty.  Usually there are three to five people just sitting over there, staring...definitely NOT minding their own business.  Drives me us CrAzY!!!  Ask anyone who comes to my house and they will tell you - it is an exception when my neighbors are not sitting outside in their 'Living Room to Our World' as we call it.  Seriously.  Every.  Day.  Go in your backyard people.

Weekend in Numbers

Ten - the number of pictures that GT took with my camera when I wasn't looking - little did I know, he was leaving fingerprints on the lens that would haze up all of the pictures I took over the weekend...

Nine -  the number of naps Vadyn took over the weekend.  The girl was tired.

  Pretty sure it's that new molar that she has popping through...

that makes nine teeth and one molar.  She isn't even one year old yet...

Eight -  what we did at the Mexican restaurant Saturday night

Get it???  We ate...(eight)...I know, it's a stretch!!  : )

Seven -  the number of lessons I learned about forgiveness at church yesterday...

Six -  the number of us that got together at Quail Ridge Park on Saturday.  Robyn and I met up with the kids and enjoyed some playtime on the playground and fun near the pond.  The boys were even lucky enough to get to fish for a little bit with another little boy who was there at the lake. 

So many good times have been had by our family at Quail Ridge Park!

Happy Birthday's were had by my little sister, Leslie, and Gordon's mom, Wanda...

One - the number of kids we had Sunday night - GT spent the night at his Mimi & Papa's house after spending Sunday afternoon and evening celebrating...

It Would Mean the World to Me

It would mean a whole heck of a lot to me if you'd take a minute out of your busy lives and let me tknow what you think of the new look of When 1 + 1 = 4...

I've been wanting to change it up for a while and I finally figured out how to do just that yesterday.

Killing Two Birds With One Stone

Does that sound harsh?

It wasn't meant to be...

I've just got some blog-keeping to do 'round these parts.  Yep. I just said 'round these parts. : )

Ok - so... (there's that ... again...)

I've won a couple of awards:

A couple of weeks ago, Jena over at Jena's Journal nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award...and then the other day, Brandy over at A Little Bit of Brandy nominated me for the Liebster Blog Award.  I have really been feeling the blogger LOVE!!!

 
I've decided to combine the two awards, since they kind of have the same "rules" - hence my blog post title - Killing Two Birds With One Stone.  Do you get it now?

The Versatile Blogger Award asks for 7 Random Facts about Yourself and the Liebster Blog Award asks for 5...so...I'm gonna go with 6.  Hope y'all are happy.

1.  I cannot make it through dinner with shoes on.  If we are home and eating dinner, once I sit down and start eating, without even realizing it, I will be slipping my shoes off under the table.

2.  We homeschool our children.  I was going to say 'plan to homeschool' our children, but...we already do!!  Everyday we are teaching them something.  Next year we will start with a written curriculum for GT.

3.  I delivered pizzas for Domino's until I was 8 months pregnant with my daughter, Vadyn.  You gotta do, what you gotta do.

4.  I am the person with 1,000 nicknames - some of which have included - Mel, Melly, Tinkerbell, Sunshine, Lizard. Hillbillie and Egon...the list goes on and on...

5.  I was on the Drama Team in my High School.  I had a lead in the play every four years.  My freshman year of high school, I beat out a junior for the part!!  Go ME!!!

6.  I do not believe in coincidence.  (If you've been reading my blog - you may already know this about me...)  I believe in Godincidence.  If come up against one of these 'incidences' - know that you are on the path that God intended for you.

Getting To Know Me

I’m participating in the send something good project.  It was put together by Gentri, Kaitlyn, and Kristy  and today I'm putting a post together dedicated to that  - to let my secret sister (and anyone else out there) know a little bit more about me and the kinda stuff that makes me 'giggle and warm and fuzzy inside'  (I’m super excited about who I am matched up with and already have been stalking her blog and making a list of thingsto go out and collect for her, and of course taking pictures along the way!)

Gooooooood Friday!!!

Happy Good Friday, friends!! 

Today, I'm doing things a lot different, because let's face it - I have about 6654872138 things on my TO DO list before another weekend of awesomeness sets in here at The White House...

So, without further adieu -

This post is going to be so random - and short and sweet - sorry, but like I was saying I've got 6654872138 things to get done...

First, I want to wish my friend, Robyn, a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!  Much love to you, girlfriend!!  I'm so glad you were at the park that day...

Second, I have another video for you all to watch...this one is of my cousin Lisa's boys...she "caught" them talking...they didn't know she was recording.   The video is dark, but it's the words that are the really sweet part.  Listen to Walker, 6, tell Kaden, 3, what Easter is about...

I mean, how freaking SWEET is that???



Third, I am beyond excited at the excitement that I have planned for this weekend...I can hardly wait to start the Easter fun with GT...we'll be dying eggs (for the first time), making Boo Boo Bunnies, Glass Block Jello, Resurrection Rolls, and MUCH MORE!!  Sunday, we are heading over to Illinois for Easter with my mom's side of the family.  This will be the first time in several years celebrating with them, so you can look forward to me sharing those pictures and deets next week.

Ta ta for now...only 6654872137 things to do now...

When One Decides to Blog...

Hi there...

Welcome to my blog!!

I've been saving this up for a long time.  I've wanted to start blogging for a while now, but the recent news I read about more changes on their way to facebook has me convinced, more than ever, that now is the time.

The purpose of my blog is to keep all of my friends and family updated on the going ons of my family...I'll be posting updates on what we've been up to, including pictures (once I get this all figured out) and other "stuff" that I would have posted on my facebook page.  I encourage you to share your comments & suggestions.
