Once again we had a busy weekend here at The White House...well, I guess we weren't actually
here for most of it, but we were definitely busy!!
Friday night we stayed at home prepping for the weekend ahead. GT mentioned to me that he wanted to make ”Easter notes” for his friends. I was more than game. He is such a sweet boy and I thought this was very thoughtful of him. We ended the night with some ultra-delicious Birthday Cake flavored icecream. It was seriously unreal. It tastes just like Birthday cake!!
Saturday, as Gordon headed off to work, the kids and I headed 'up the road' for an Easter Egg Hunt that the nearby town was putting on. Pictures with the Easter Bunny were beforehand. I was super proud of my kiddos...they sat still and smiled pretty, allowing me to snap a few cute pics.
We met up after the hunt with friends of ours - Casie, and her two kids, Carmen & Collin. GT and Collin played on the playground for a while, while the girls, Vadyn & Carmen, shared some Cheerios and chilled in their strollers.

While the boys were playing on the playground, Casie & I formulated a plan to have lunch at McDonald's before heading over to the Fire Station in our town. The firemen were putting on a little Open House complete with tours of the station and pictures with the Easter Bunny on an old-fashioned fire truck. The boys were in heaven.

We headed home for a very much needed nap (for all of us!!). Gordon made the most delicious pork steaks (
I've ever tasted) for dinner (
that's saying a lot because I've eaten a ton of pork steaks in my day) and we ended the night with a bath. We had church in the morning!!
Sunday morning, Gordon headed off to work again
(PTL! - work is a good word in our house) and the kids and I headed off to church. When we got home from church, Vadyn was sleeping, so I put her in her bed and headed outside with GT to work in the yard.
Gordon came home while I was working in the yard and took GT inside to cool down. It was a hot one on Sunday!! As the boys relaxed inside, I continued on my quest to conquer the mess that is our yard. I worked long and hard in the front and back yards and even managed to come away with a good old fashioned farmers tan!! Oh yeah.
Sunday night,
as if we hadn't already experienced enough excitement for one weekend, Wanda treated us to the Circus!!
If you know anything about me...you know that I am a circus NUT!! It's rubbed off on GT...and now Vadyn...this was her very first circus!!...and what a circus it was!!...it's just as good as the Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey circus that comes to the area once a year....
 |
| Such a BIG BOY!! He's riding unassisted this year!! |
 |
| He was putting his imaginary pistols back into the holster.... |
 |
| He LOVED his face painting!! |
 |
| Playing with wipes...because that's the kind of toys that Vadyn likes...things that aren't toys!!! |
 |
| Yes, there are TWO women inside that box!!! |
 |
| He grew tired of his face paint.... |
 |
| Uh oh....guess who's got the camera now!! |
 |
| GT loves taking pictures of strangers....LOL... |
 |
and another person we don't know... ; )
See...I told you it was a zinger of a weekend!!! So much so that it took me THREE days to get this post together!!!!
