When One Turns Another Year Older...

I have a hard time believing how fast time moves these days.  It seems like ever since GT was born that I can't blink without an entire month...or three months...or three years...passing by.

(Ok look...I'm new to this whole blogging thing and I don't really know where to start...my first few entries may be nonsensical and erratic, I'm going to try my hardest to really stick to this.  Any tips from seasoned bloggers would be appreciated!!)

This year, I turned 33 on November 13th.  33 years young, I say!

Anywho - this post is about my recent BIRTHDAY WEEKEND!!!  I don't give a hoot about my actual age, but I do enjoy celebrating my birthday...hence the terminolgy "BIRTHDAY WEEKEND"!!  : )

I started off Friday night, by going to see my beautiful niece, Morgan, in her very first High School Theatre production.  The show was Grease.  Morgan was cast as an "Extra Student/Dancer".  Let me tell you.  The girl was ON!!!  I was SO PROUD OF HER!!  I have thought about her performance several times since and I just can't get it out of my head.  She stayed in character, the entire time she was on stage & the girl CAN DANCE!!  : )  I can hardly wait to see what the future holds for this very special young lady.  Drama is only one of her many talents.

This is my beautiful niece, Morgan
(Pretty sure this is her first head shot)

Don't I look SO PROUD?!?

Saturday was spent at home...my husband had to work during the day (he's in the Heating & Cooling Industry) and I enjoyed a lazy morning at home with our two babies.  That evening, my husband installed a Whole House Humidifier for us.  If you aren't aware of the benefits of having a humidifier, you should really look into it...and then call my husband to install it for you!!!  : )

From the look of this sky...I just knew Sunday was going to be beautiful!!

Sunday was my actual birth day.  This year, what I really wanted for my birthday was to go to Brunch...and did we!!!  My "in-laws" (they SOOOO do not feel like "in-laws, but that's a very long story for another day) treated us to the the most delicious brunch at Charlie Gitto's in Chesterfield.  I have never been there before, it was quite a fancy treat.  It was so great to get to share that with my kids, husband, Wanda & Dr. Jer.  I am SO BLESSED!!!

My Birthday Blessing #1...on our way to Brunch...
As we walked in the door of Charlie Gittos, GT spotted the Gelatto case which, of course, had maraschino cherries scattered about inside of it...and...of course...GT wanted some of those cherries!!  Our waiter, and the hostess/gelatto girl were more than happy to oblige.  Usually I wouldn't let him overindulge like that, but...it was my BIRTHDAY WEEKEND after all!!!!

Sweet as Sugar!!!

My Birthday Blessings #2 & #3

I realize I have kind of a maniacal look on my face here, but
I really like this picture of me...LOL

My family on my Birthday - 11/13/11

Gordon, GT, Vadyn & I went home after Brunch and spent the rest of the day, just being together.  Sitting here typing, I can't even remember what we had for dinner, it was that ordinary of an evening.  Those are the best kinds of evenings though, if you ask me.  Evenings where we are just together, as a family, enjoying and loving each other.

As if all of this excitement wasn't enough, I still had Monday to go - Monday night, I met my sisters, Stephanie & Leslie and my mom, Carol, at Matador Mexican Restaurant in Chesterfield to celebrate. (My cousin, Lisa & her three boys also joined us - the more the merrier, I say)  The food was delicious and the company was wonderful...but the thing that really "took the cake" for the evening was, well...THE CAKE!!!  My mom picked up a chocolate (I'm not the hugest chocolate fan, but I am a fan of cake) cake from McArthur's Bakery and OMG'sh was it DELICIOUS!!  Seriously.  The cake was gone the next day.  When does that ever happen?!?  Here's me with my cake:

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

I had an ABSOLUTELY AWESOME BIRTHDAY WEEKEND!!  If the rest of this year is half as great as the first few days have been, I'm GOLDEN!!

Until next time,

Melissa <3
